ECONOMIC COUNCIL TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE RM
Specialists of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) had a working meeting with representatives of some associations of the food and processing industry in the Republic of Moldova, members of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister.
Recently, entrepreneurs have submitted several requests and proposals related to the revision of the Law promoting the use of energy from renewable sources, as well as other primary and secondary legislation directly affecting their activity. Following the discussions, the participants received answers to several questions and explanations on some issues related to the construction of power plants for own consumption by entrepreneurs and the application of the existing legal framework.
“For ANRE, as the regulator of the energy sectors, it is very important to involve entrepreneurs in the processes of drafting regulatory acts, which have a direct impact on the entrepreneurs’ activity. In the coming period, we will focus on the difficulties encountered by the entrepreneurs we represent, in order to help in solving the impediments, but based on the existing legal framework and taking into account EU practice”, said Violina Șpac, ANRE Director.
The entrepreneurs’ representatives also expressed their satisfaction with the Agency’s openness to discuss existing problems in relations with licensees in the electricity, water supply and sewerage sectors, as well as those related to the approval of regulated tariffs and prices.
In the end, those present decided to continue the dialogue on the platform created. This meeting was organised at the initiative of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister on the ANRE platform with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Efficiency Agency.
The Secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, funded by the UK Government’s Good Governance Fund.
