23 September 2021 – During the event the experts of the Economic Council Secretariat presented the agenda of activities on which the platform is focusing its efforts. A priority, according to the head of the Secretariat of the Economic Council Ion Lupan is the development and promotion of the Roadmap for boosting the process of digitization of the national economy and development of e-commerce.
The document, developed with the involvement of the Ministry of Economy, covers four major areas: remote interaction and development of electronic services for business; development of e-commerce and e-payments; improvement of customs procedures for online exports and stimulation of postal and courier services; and attracting international e-commerce platforms to Moldova.
The document also ensures the promotion of new approaches to the modernisation of business interaction with the authorities and citizens in the Government’s business plans, with the Economic Council contributing to the crystallisation of a new Digital Transformation Vision for the Republic of Moldova.
“The Roadmap for boosting the process of digitization of the national economy and development of e-commerce is an excellent tool for identifying problems and constraints, generating solutions and promoting results, being a ”living” document in constant transformation and evolution that can contribute to the development of the business environment and the promotion of digital innovation in Moldova,” added the Head of the Secretariat of the Economic Council Ion Lupan.
This year’s edition of Moldova ICT Summit 2021 was dedicated to digital transformation. Participants discussed the latest trends, opportunities and IT solutions that can be used to develop business and the economy in general, as well as to improve the quality of public services. The event was organised by the Association of IT Companies, in partnership with the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova, the German International Cooperation Agency GIZ Moldova and with the support of the Tekwill project, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Sweden.
