The procedures that economic operators and citizens go through when connecting to public utilities could be revised

In order to gain access to public utility services – water, sewerage, gas and electricity networks – businesses and citizens, if networks need to be built, can go through dozens of procedures before they can use such services.

This involves both cost and time. The subject is being discussed in a working group set up by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitisation, with the support of the Secretariat of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, involving public authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders.

During the discussions, representatives from ANRE, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Public Services Agency, the General Inspectorate of Police, the Environment Agency, the City Hall of the Municipality of Bucharest, the Ministry of Public Utilities, the Ministry of Public Utilities and the Ministry of Public Administration participated in the discussions. Chisinau, as well as the service providers ÎCS “Premier Energy” SRL, S.A. “Apă-Canal Chisinau”, “Chișinău-gaz” SRL and other participants, examine the opportunity to exclude the request for certain documents, exempt certain situations from complex bureaucratic requirements, ensure the possibility of obtaining documents or documents remotely, in electronic format and other potential improvements.

Regulatory changes on this subject will be made in the next few weeks. They will be publicly debated with all stakeholders and proposed to the Government for approval.
