PM says Moldova safe place for investments

The Economic Council to the Prime Minister has marked one decade of work. Attending a festive event dedicated to the anniversary, Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed the Council’s role in the identification and settlement of the challenges faced by the business environment and promotion of the investment opportunities in Moldova, the government’s communication department reported.

„For ten years, the Economic Council under the Prime Minister has been an essential partner in the dialogue between the public sector and the business environment, contributing to the economic growth, innovation and creation of jobs all over the country,’’ the president of the Economic Council, Dorin Recean, said.

The PM reiterated that Moldova was a safe place for investments and that the strategic goal of the government was the European integration. ‘’In the European Union, there is the biggest and the richest market. The free trade which Moldova is gradually implementing and has with EU creates exceptional opportunities for the business people,’’ Dorin Recean said.

The prime minister said the government implemented important reforms, in order to remove the constraints faced by the business environment and create better conditions for the business people, appreciating their role in the development of Moldova’s economy.

The marking of those ten years of work of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister brought together more business people, representatives of the academic environment, ministers and strategic partners of Moldova, among whom: Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Fern Horine, Head of the Office of the Resident Representation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Moldova (EBRD) Catarina Bjorlin Hansen and the executive director of European Business Association of Moldova, Mariana Rufa.
