ECONOMIC COUNCIL TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE RM
A working group, set up on Prime Minister’s decision, will improve the regulatory framework that hinders entrepreneurial activity in Moldova.
The Working Group will be made up of representatives of the Government, Parliament, the President’s Office and the European Union High Representative’s Mission to Moldova. The group will be coordinated by the Ministry of Economy and assisted by the Secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister, supported by the EBRD, the UK Government Fund for Good Governance and the International Finance Corporation project.
Improvements will be considered in virtually all regulatory areas, at the request of the business community, such as business start-up and closure; mandatory requirements for entrepreneurial activity; licensing regulation of entrepreneurial activity; labour regulation; tax policy and administration; customs policy and administration; reporting; state control; powers of prosecuting bodies in the field of entrepreneurial activity; sanctions in relation to economic agents; public services; other services essential to entrepreneurial activity (notary, banking, utilities and telecommunications), etc.
The working group will develop packages of regulatory changes to improve the regulatory framework.
The Secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, funded by the UK Government’s Good Governance Fund, and the International Finance Corporation’s Investment Climate Reform Project funded by the Government of Sweden’s International Development Agency.
