The Consultative Council for the Digitisation of the Economy has been created

This entity will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Digitisation Iurie Țurcanu and will operate within the Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, while the ICT Association will act as vice-chair of the iCouncil.

At the launch event of the iCouncil, Iurie Țurcanu said that “All issues related to the digitisation of entrepreneurship and the economy will be discussed jointly with the business community in this format – on the Economic Council platform. The objective of this working body is to debate both issues with immediate effect and strategic issues concerning digitisation proposed to the Government for consideration”.

The first topic to be promoted in the iCouncil will be the second legislative package for the digitisation of the economy. It will contain new digital tools aimed at simplifying G2B, B2B and B2C relations. Representatives of the international development partners community and of the business association sector participating in the meeting supported the creation of the Consultative Council for the Digitisation of the Economy, expressing the hope that this entity will accelerate all processes related to the promotion of the digitisation of the economy and business interaction with the authorities.

During the event, the Head of the Secretariat of the Economic Council Ion Lupan spoke about the progress of the process of adoption by the Parliament of the first legislative package for the digitization of the economy, which will be promoted for final reading in the next few days and will allow: remote registration of businesses, including changes in the statutes of companies; issuing decisions, certificates, extracts, permits in electronic format; use of electronic signatures in labour relations and promotion of remote interaction between employer and employee. The project also involves drafting and promoting amendments to the legislation on personal data protection, and primarily the cancellation of personal data operator notifications, in line with current European practices.
