February 27, 2025 – The Economic Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova (EC) is recognized by its members as an essential platform for public-private dialogue, an effective mechanism for fostering communication between the Government and the business community, and a key instrument in promoting pro-business reforms. These are some of the conclusions of the annual survey conducted among EC members between January and February 2025.
According to the results, 97% of respondents believe that the EC remains an impartial dialogue platform, while 98% appreciate the Secretariat’s efficiency in identifying and addressing business environment constraints. Regarding the promotion of reforms and international best practices, 96% of participants acknowledge the EC’s significant role. The survey also highlights an increased perception of support for SMEs and women’s economic empowerment. 97% of respondents state that the EC facilitates effective dialogue between government institutions and SMEs, while 93% believe it promotes relevant initiatives for the digitalization of the economy.
Based on these findings, EC members propose measures to improve its activity, including the faster adoption of legislative amendments, the implementation of monthly surveys, and the establishment of clear deadlines for planned actions. A total of 102 out of 145 EC members participated in the survey, representing business associations, international organizations, public authorities, and the research community.
