The business community has prioritized issues for which solutions need to be found in the near future

3 July 2019 – Public services digitalization, labor code modification, reviewing Compensatory fee for copyright and related rights, ensuring regulatory impact analysis – these and many other subjects have been set as priorities for the coming period by the business community during the Economic Council platform meeting, organized at the request of the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Development Policy for the Economy and Financial Intermediation, Victor Burunsus.

Representatives of business associations noted that it is extremely necessary to reduce business interaction with state officials in order to avoid opportunities for corruption and business impediments. And this can be accomplished through digitalization of public services.

Another necessary reform is the implementation of regulatory impact analysis for all regulatory initiatives with potential impact on the business environment, promoted by both state institutions and Parliament deputies.

Waste management – another subject addressed by business representatives. The issue of food waste, food waste management, incineration / co-incineration is inefficiently regulated in the Republic of Moldova and decision-makers must focus attention on it, mentioned business community. Moldova needs a legal framework that would ensure the achievement of ecological goals in a way that is as efficient as possible and a facilitator for business, many provisions being included in European directives assumed at national level.

Creating a favourable environment for training and maintaining IT specialists in the Republic of Moldova through increasing buget funding for vocational education in this field and providing tax incentives for young specialists, also reducing the burden of reporting for the business community – subjects discussed during the debates at the Economic Council.

Another necessary reform in the business community’s view is reviewing customs value establishment, but also promote cross-border e-commerce.

Following the meeting, the Economic Council Secretariat will collect all the business community proposals, and together with the public institutions responsible for policy formulation within the working groups, solutions will be sought for the challenges posed by the business.
