Designing and Managing Projects for Results workshop

Heads of the Economic Council working groups and experts of the Council Secretariat participate in “Designing and Managing Projects for Results” workshop organized by International Finance Corporation World Bank Group.

The purpose of this workshop is to improve participants’ skills in designing and managing projects for results. The session covered identification the development challenge, choosing solutions, conducting a stakeholder analysis, developing the theory of change, incorporating risks into the project and measuring results.

The workshop was led by Kamal Siblini, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, World Bank Group, supported by Yuriy Kuzmyn, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and Victoria Tetyora, Private Sector Specialist, IFC.

This workshop lasted between June 24 -27, 2019. In the workshop were discussed topics such as:

  • Deconstructing the problem – identifying causes of the market failure and Relationship-based situational analysis;
  • Building the solution and options analysis;
  • Stakeholder analysis;
  • General overview of the Theory of Change (TOC) process and the resulting product, TOC approaches and principles, connecting TOC with monitoring and evaluation (M&E);
  • Incorporating risks into the project;
  • Monitoring and Evaluation – M&E fundamentals, approaches, frameworks, tools, plans;
  • Connecting the dots – putting it all together.

This workshop is an objectives of the upcoming M&E mission to Chisinau to assess the current capacity and tools employed by the Secretariat of Economic Council to the Prime Minister in performing its M&E functions.
